The Anatolian
The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a landrace Livestock Guardian Dog breed from Turkey. This means that while Turkey has many Guardian dogs, there is variety in builds and colors, generally based upon which region the dogs ancestors came from.

The Kangal, a specific regional variety of LGD from Sivas, Turkey, is an example of that.

The Anatolian is a fierce, but gentle, protector. The Shepherds used these dogs to defend their flocks and families from predators and thieves. They are proud dogs, and natural guardians.

Anatolians are very intelligent, often compared to kindergarten aged children in understanding. They are observational learners, and exposing them to many different settings and circumstances can enhance their decision-making ability.
